Kijiji invites Torontonians to chisel their way to up to $1,037 in free cash

TORONTO, March 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Kijiji, Canada's largest online classifieds site, recently released its third annual Second-Hand Economy (SHE) Index, which reveals Canadians' second-hand practices including buying, selling, swapping, renting and donating previously used items. Saving and earning extra cash are among top motivators to take part in the second-hand economy and this year's report found Canadians earned an average of $1,037 from second-hand sales, while buyers of second-hand goods saved an average of $843 in 2016 (up considerably from $480 in 2015)!  

On Thursday, March 16, Kijiji invites Torontonians to chisel their way to up to $1,037 in free cash, representing how much you could pocket by selling items you no longer need.

What:	Kijiji Ice Wall of Cash Interactive ice sculpture experience that brings to life key highlights from the 2017 Kijiji Second-Hand Economy Index through: Ice Wall of Cash: Representing the average number of items exchanged in the second-hand economy per person last year, the first 78 guests will have a chance to carve out between $5 and $1,037 in free cash giveaways from a large ice wall. Frozen Assets Photo Opp: Larger-than-life ice sculpture of a couch in a realistic living room setup, representing the product category (furniture) with the highest perceived savings when purchasing second-hand over new. Live ice sculpting demonstration (10 – 11 a.m.), as well as a variety of unique photo opportunities and activities throughout the day.
