817 people participated in KINDER® Canada's record-breaking event at the Canadian National Exhibition
TORONTO, Aug. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - Parents and children gathered at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) today to unwrap a KINDER® SURPRISE® egg and rejoice in the sweet satisfaction of breaking the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® record title for the most people unwrapping candy simultaneously. To celebrate KINDER®'s 40th anniversary worldwide, the event was part of KINDER® Canada's "Unwrap a Smile" program that kicked-off during this year's back-to-school season.
"It's an exciting time for KINDER®! We achieved the goal of breaking a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS record and in doing so achieved our goal to unwrap hundreds of smiles," says Shoshana Price, group brand manager, KINDER® Masterbrand at Ferrero Canada.
"When a parent gives a KINDER® SURPRISE® egg to their child, we hope a moment of joy and a smile will come from unwrapping the chocolate, the surprise inside and a toy for further play time together," says Price. "We were thrilled to have the support of Torontonians at the CNE and Canadians online across the country and we hope that every interaction with KINDER® keeps Canadians smiling."
As part of the fall program, KINDER® Canada also custom-built an interactive KINDER® Smile Booth where a surprise moment of joy, between parents and kids is captured through photo/video. Families have the opportunity to share their fun KINDER® smile moment via email, Facebook or Twitter. The KINDER® Smile Booth opened in mid-August at the Toronto Eaton Centre and moved to the CNE today. It will continue to travel across the country for months to come. Keep tabs on where where KINDER®'s Smile Booth will pop up next or create a virtual photo strip in our Smile Booth by joining the KINDER® Canada Fan Page: www.facebook.com/KinderCanada.
