KITCHENER, ON, Sept. 28, 2017 /CNW/ - Kindred Credit Union (Kindred) is pleased to announce that we have been accepted into membership in the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), a network of banking leaders from around the world committed to advancing positive change in the banking sector.
The GABV is an independent network of banks, banking cooperatives, and credit unions, using finance to deliver sustainable economic, social, and environmental development. Since being founded in 2009, the GABV has grown rapidly in membership and influence.
"Becoming a member of the GABV is yet another example of our commitment to inspiring peaceful, just, and prosperous communities. Kindred was invited to join four other member financial institutions in Canada working to help individuals fulfil their potential and build stronger communities," said Brent Zorgdrager, Kindred's chief executive officer.
The GABV comprises over 43 financial institutions and seven strategic partners across the globe. Kindred is excited to join in the global movement helping to ensure that banking is a healthy and productive system and to develop a positive, viable alternative to the current banking system.
