Award highlights ongoing commitment to recruit skilled immigrants
OTTAWA, March 6, 2013 /CNW/ - Kivuto Solutions Inc., the global leader in complex digital distribution, has received the Employer Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in the recruitment of skilled immigrants in Ottawa.
Presented by Hire Immigrants Ottawa (HIO) and the Employer Council of Champions (ECC) at the ECC Summit today, the annual award recognizes workplaces in the Ottawa area that demonstrate ongoing efforts to attract and retain talented immigrants and new Canadians for their workforces. Since 2008, more than 15 organizations have been recognized for their practices.
"Kivuto has made a conscious commitment to hire internationally-trained talent available to employers right here in Ottawa," said Ram Raju, President and CEO of Kivuto. "It's an honor to receive this award on behalf of all the people at Kivuto who have created a proactive recruitment process and a challenging work environment that enables skilled immigrants to find a rewarding career in Ottawa's high tech community."
In 2012 alone, Kivuto Solutions hired 16 internationally-trained IT professionals. These employees provide the company with cross-cultural expertise and language skills that help Kivuto bridge cultural gaps in global markets for its worldwide digital distribution solutions.
"We are very proud of the work that Ottawa employers are doing to ensure they are including skilled immigrants among their recruits," said Henry Akanko, project director of Hire Immigrants Ottawa. "By adapting their hiring, recruitment and talent management practices, Kivuto Solutions has demonstrated that they are in tune with the changing demographics of the labor force and have rightly positioned their company to be competitive in finding the best talent. We are proud to honor Kivuto Solutions and we hope more companies will take the lead from their example."
