K'naan to headline Concordia Student Union's Orientation
MONTREAL, Aug. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - The 2010 Juno artist of the year as well as songwriter of the year K'naan, will be kick starting the Concordia Student Union's (CSU) fall orientation on September 9. The Canadian hip-hop artist, residing in Toronto is well known for his catchy lyrics and positive messages. His song "Wavin Flag" which is on the soundtrack for the 2010 FIFA World Cup has been on top of the international charts as well as on the Canadian charts. His songs have become a worldwide phenomenon through his witty similes and clever analogies that he poetically writes.
"The CSU wanted an artist that encapsulated the theme of diversity for this year. Not only is K'naan a talented musician from Canada, but his lyrics spread the message of being strong in times of hardship, as well as of encouraging diversity and living in harmony amongst one another. This is sure to be an orientation unlike any other" said CSU President Prince Ralph Osei.
The CSU's fall orientation's is one of the biggest in Canada, and happens for two weeks from September 7-17, 2010. It caters to all tastes and it is a platform for welcoming our students to this multicultural city.
