Supporting employees with young families achieve a phenomenal career
TORONTO, Dec. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - KPMG LLP (KPMG) has been named one of Canada's Top Family-Friendly Employers for 2013. The annual award recognizes the most progressive and forward-thinking employers that lead in supporting employees with young families achieve work-life balance.

Employers are evaluated based on programs, initiatives and benefits available to employees with young children. These include: maternity and parental leave top-up payments, flexible work options, health benefit plans offering family coverage, assistance with daycare and programs promoting work-life balance - all programs in place at KPMG. Evaluation is also based on how employers address emerging issues, including benefits for adoptive parents and compassionate leave for elderly parental care.
KPMG has existing and new progressive initiatives and programs that address emerging issues, including:
- Beginning in January 2013, KPMG will introduce a more extensive maternity leave program, building on its existing 'Baby Buddy' program that will see female KPMG partners and senior managers facilitate monthly meetings for women going on and coming back from leave
- KPMG has launched Women in Line for Leadership - a program focused on the development of women to their full potential
- The Women's Interchange Network supports female employees and provides them with opportunities to network
- The Working Parents Network provides employees with support and a forum to discuss their unique challenges
