Donation to help rebuild East Coast communities in the wake of Hurricane Igor
TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - Kraft Canada announced today the company is donating $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for their relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Igor. The money will go toward on-the-ground support, essential supplies, shelter, and first aid for communities devastated by the storm.
"We have a strong community presence in St. John's and the surrounding area, and many of our employees in the region have already pitched in to help in whatever way they can," said Dino Bianco, President of Kraft Canada. "We are proud to support our colleagues and the Canadian Red Cross in their efforts to help east coast Canadians rebuild and recover from this natural disaster as soon as possible."
Recorded as one of the highest volumes of water from a tropical cyclone in Canadian history, Hurricane Igor hit the coast of Newfoundland in late September. With the affects still being felt throughout the east coast, a number of communities remain in a state of emergency.
