TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - Bon voyage! From Bay Roberts, NL to New Westminster, BC, and every winning community in between, TSN and Kraft Canada are set to embark on the ultimate summer road trip - the second-annual Kraft Celebration Tour, featuring TSN's flagship sports news program SPORTSCENTRE broadcasting live from 10 Canadian communities over a period of 10 days, beginning Friday, Aug. 20.
All 10 winning communities receive a $25,000 community refresh from Kraft Canada to be used for improvements to a local facility that supports active and healthy living in the area.
The Kraft Celebration Tour kicks off in Bay Roberts, NL, with anchors Darren Dutchyshen and Jennifer Hedger hosting SPORTSCENTRE live from the small community on Conception Bay on Friday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. ET.
The following evening, SPORTSCENTRE visits Port Dover, ON, as anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole, along with notorious Producer Tim, broadcast live from the shores of Lake Erie on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. ET.
"It's truly heart-warming for all of us involved with the Kraft Celebration Tour to see Canadians from coast to coast celebrating grassroots sports and embracing their communities. The opportunity to partner with Kraft Canada to give back to these local heroes and reward them with a SPORTSCENTRE broadcast and a $25,000 community refresh is an honour," said Hedger. "I know all of us here at TSN are looking forward to getting out of the studio and into the communities that have supported us year after year."
Dutchyshen and Hedger host SPORTSCENTRE from all winning communities in Eastern Canada (Bay Roberts, NL; Pictou, NS; Abram-Village, PE; Wakefield, QC; and Brighton, ON), while Onrait and O'Toole bring Canada's top-rated daily sportscast to all winning communities in Western Canada (Port Dover, ON; Pinawa, MB; Outlook, SK; Fort Macleod, AB; New Westminster, BC). (See below for show locations, dates and broadcast times for the Kraft Celebration Tour.)
Canada's most-watched French-language sportscast, SPORTS 30 on RDS, also joins the Kraft Celebration Tour in Quebec, with veteran anchors Chantal Machabée and Marc Labrecque hosting SPORTS 30 live from Wakefield.
In addition to attending the events, fans can keep up with the Kraft Celebration Tour by joining the Fan Page on Facebook, following Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole on Twitter, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road with blogs and photo galleries on the Kraft Celebration Tour website at TSN.ca/KraftCelebrationTour.
Last month, a record 4.1 million online votes were recorded by Canadians from across the country to determine the 10 winning communities for the Kraft Celebration Tour. The national promotion has also been making headlines from coast to coast as more than 460 communities were nominated for this year's tour.
Kraft Canada has partnered with Less Emissions Inc. to offset the travel-related emissions from the Kraft Celebration Tour, and with Bullfrog Power to inject clean, renewable electricity onto the regional grid to match the amount of power used at the broadcast locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Maritimes.
