Kraus donates $5,000 to the Red Cross Relief efforts in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec
WATERLOO, ON, July 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Kraus Group of Companies donates $5,000 towards the Canadian Red Cross in support of the explosion in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec.
On July 5th, 2013 a train carrying about 100,000 litres of crude oil was parked for the evening. The train was parked uphill in Nantes, about 10 kilometres west of Lac-Mégantic. Sometime throughout the night, the train slid downhill where it burst into a series of massive explosions, which devastated the core of Quebec's Lac-Mégantic. Dozens of businesses and homes have been affected and 37 causalities have been reported with an estimated 13 still missing.
"The entire Kraus team feels deeply for the families affected by this horrible disaster. We cannot imagine the courage required by the Lac- Mégantic community," comments Steve Malinowski, CEO and President of Kraus Group of Companies, "and send our thoughts and continued strength to those dealing with this tragedy."
