HALIFAX, March 17, 2014 /CNW/ - Ron Kronstein, Senior Anchor of the Global Evening News for Halifax and New Brunswick, and Janique LeBlanc, Anchor for Le Téléjournal Acadie, Radio-Canada's Atlantic Television News hour, will be the Masters of Ceremonies for the Atlantic Journalism Awards. This year's event will be held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
Ron Kronstein is a veteran reporter, producer and anchor. After beginning his journalism career in Ontario, he came to Halifax in 1983. After 12 years, he left for a brief time to work at a television station in Winnipeg, but soon returned to Halifax to co-Anchor and host on ATV. For 10 years, Ron was a Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces, working as a public affairs officer in Halifax and Toronto. Today, Ron continues to work in broadcast journalism, with more than 30 years experience covering some of the biggest stories in television.
Janique LeBlanc is an experienced journalist who has worked as a radio and television reporter, host and anchor in Canada and Europe. She began her career at Radio-Canada in 1986. After 15 years, Janique went to work in Switzerland in private and public radio news broadcasting, eventually joining the International news desk of Swiss public radio RSR. In 2010, Janique returned to New Brunswick to continue her career in what she considers the best job in the world.
Finalists for the Atlantic Journalism Awards will be announced in early April. The gold and silver awards will be presented at a gala dinner and awards show on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
