La Capitale and the VIVA workplace health and wellness program present Montreal's inaugural trade show for running enthusiasts Français
QUÉBEC, March 3, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - La Capitale Insurance and Financial Group and the VIVA workplace health and wellness program are proud to present Montreal's inaugural trade show for running enthusiasts, which will be held on March 12 and 13 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Running is making a comeback! The growing number of people who practice this activity and the increased number of races organized throughout Quebec in recent years certainly seem to support this statement. The renewed interest in running is what prompted Yves Saint-Louis to hold a trade show in Montreal for running enthusiasts, and his enthusiastic team members were fast off the mark!
"Running is a very accessible sport that's easy to practice and effective. By effective, I mean that a person can benefit from even a short period of jogging," said Yves Saint-Louis. "We runners realized that there was no major event where exhibitors could come together to showcase their products and resources dedicated to our sport. For that reason, we decided to organize a trade show for people who are thinking of getting into running or who already practice this activity. Our trade show will feature many exhibitors representing boutiques, suppliers, health and wellness specialists, clubs and activities. Authors such as Jean-Yves Cloutier (Courir au bon rythme) and speakers such as Olympian Alex Genest will also be on hand at the trade show, as will our spokesperson, Dominic Arpin."
Running, health and well-being
"La Capitale's partnership with this sporting event is a perfect match," said Annie Giguère, Director of Innovation, Business Solutions and Marketing at La Capitale. "Our company's mission is to build, protect and value what people consider essential to their financial security and well-being. Consequently La Capitale's VIVA workplace health and wellness program focuses on prevention through endeavours that foster the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, such as running. Considering the current context of an aging population, transfers of costs to the public sector and employee turnover issues, VIVA makes it easier for employers to increase employee engagement and retention, reduce absenteeism and enhance productivity. The VIVA program has a positive impact on employees' lifestyle habits and happiness at work, while allowing them to have a better work-life balance," Ms. Giguère concluded.
