La Capitale announces the retirement of Constance Lemieux, President and Chief Operating Officer of its Property and Casualty insurance sector Français
She will be succeeded by Christian Fournier
QUEBEC, Dec. 8, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Jean St-Gelais, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of La Capitale Insurance and Financial Group, has announced that Constance Lemieux, President and Chief Operating Officer of its Property and Casualty insurance sector, has informed him of her decision to retire on February 24, 2018 after more than 10 years of service with the company. Christian Fournier, the current Vice-President of Claims at La Capitale General Insurance, has been appointed to succeed her as president of that business sector.
Ms. Lemieux joined La Capitale in 2008 as Vice-President, Development of New Financial Sectors and Organizational Effectiveness. She was appointed President of La Capitale General Insurance in 2010.
"Through her vision and leadership, our general insurance sector has posted solid results and sustained growth over the years, recording nearly $1 billion in premium volume in 2017, declared Jean St-Gelais. Ms. Lemieux has always, throughout her career, been very active professionally and socially. Among other things, she has and will continue to serve on various boards, in addition to being involved in coaching. Ms. Lemieux is a Laval University and McGill Executive Institute graduate and a certified corporate director.
Appointment of Christian Fournier
Christian Fournier will take up his new duties on February 26, 2018. Mr. Fournier, who is a Laval University graduate and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society, has held a number of strategic positions in the property and casualty insurance industry in Quebec and other parts of Canada. He joined La Capitale General Insurance in 2011 and was appointed to his current position in 2013.
