La Collection Loto-Québec, proud partner of Papier 10
MONTREAL, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ - La Collection Loto-Québec is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the Papier 10 Montréal Contemporary Art Fair of Works on Paper, to be held from April 16 through April 18 at the Black Watch Regiment armoury. A unique Québec event, Papier 10 is the province's contemporary art market hub, bringing together works by more than 150 artists who are represented by 22 galleries from Montréal, Québec City, Eastman, Orford, Toronto and Ottawa.
A national print competition launched the Collection Loto-Québec in 1979. In fact, this is why so much of the Collection is composed of artwork on paper, with some 30 works by artists such as Francine Simonin, Marc Garneau, Jacques Hurtubise and Ève Cadieux being on display at the fair.
The fair also provides an opportunity for the Collection to enrich its holdings by acquiring new works. Journalist Yanick Villedieu and actress Sophie Faucher will be part of the acquisition jury chaired by Collection curator Louis Pelletier.
Covering a variety of schools of art on paper techniques, Papier 10 presents recent work by creators such as Raymonde April, Marcel Barbeau, Catherine Bolduc, Sylvain Bouthillette, Claude Chaussard and Michael Flomen. The fair seeks to facilitate meetings between artists, gallery owners, art lovers and art milieu professionals.
Dedicated to contemporary visual art and among Québec's major collections, La Collection Loto-Québec includes more than 4,000 works (paintings, prints and sculpture). In addition to enriching Québec's cultural heritage, the collection has maintained a healthy dialogue with the local artistic community for more than 30 years.
