A unique exhibition presented by
Espace Création Loto-Québec!
MONTREAL, Jan. 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Loto-Québec's Espace Création will kick off the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Fondation Les Impatients in the most natural way for an arts venue: by presenting a new exhibition of works by Les Impatients's unique artists, from January 20 to May 20, 2012. With Les Impatients's spokesperson Clémence DesRochers in attendance, the vernissage will be an opportunity to meet a number of Québec personalities.
In addition to Ms. DesRochers, actors Mariloup Wolfe together with Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, Marc Béland, Catherine Trudeau, Louis Champagne and his sister Marie-Christine, Les Impatients founder Pierre Henry and art historian Pierre Théberge, Céline Lacerte and Dr. Yves Lamontagne, artist Janine Carreau, art therapist Pierre Bellemare and "Impatient" Gaëtane, and, finally, Robert Dutton, Chairman and General Manager of RONA and Les Impatients' major benefactor for over 15 years, readily accepted Espace Création's invitation to act as honorary commissioners. Under the guidance of Louis Pelletier, head commissioner of the exhibition and curator of the Collection Loto-Québec, the celebrities selected approximately 60 works of art from the Collection, which will be exhibited in a unique setting, side by side with works by some 30 Impatients.
In addition to her role as guest commissioner, Clémence DesRochers added a personal touch to La Collection selon…Les Impatients by composing the introductory text for the exhibition. "The main attraction of this exhibition is long-time supporter Louis Pelletier's objective selection of Impatients works, simply using his expert art lover's eye," she said.
The head commissioner selected Impatients works for the 2nd part of the exhibition. By doing so, he wishes to contribute to the discovery of Les Impatients who use art in order to live better. "You will see works that, among thousands of productions, are the result of each participant's journey," noted Louis Pelletier.
Loto-Québec has taken this opportunity to celebrate the Fondation Les Impatients's 20th anniversary with a $20,000 donation. "Les Impatients are greatly honoured to be associated with the Collection Loto-Québec through this major exhibition, which also provides an extraordinary showcase for the work of the Impatients organization, its collaborators and friends. Moreover, Loto-Québec's substantial donation will enable us to pursue our mission," added Lorraine B. Palardy, General Manager of Les Impatients.
It should be noted that this is the first joint exhibition by Espace Création and the Fondation Les Impatients.
