La Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) and the United Steelworkers, Local 9538 reach a new collective agreement Français
Minister Leitch congratulates both parties
OTTAWA, July 27, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated La Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) and the United Steelworkers, Local 9538, on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

- La Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) operates ferry services from Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec, located in the Magdalen Islands, to Souris, Prince Edward Island. CTMA also operates a seasonal passenger service from Montréal, Quebec to Cap-aux-Meules as well as a year-round cargo service from Trois-Rivières, Quebec to Cap-aux-Meules.
- The collective agreement, covering all licensed personnel, deck officers and engineers employed on vessels owned or operated by CTMA, expired on January 31, 2014.
