Labatt Breweries named to Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2016
TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - Labatt Breweries of Canada has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2016. This is the third consecutive year the brewer has been named to the prestigious annual list since first entering the competition in 2013.
"We're honoured to be one of Canada's Top Employers for three years in a row, and yet no win beats the current one," said Jan Craps, president, Labatt Breweries of Canada. "Each year we have the opportunity to show our employees and our country what working at Labatt is all about, and the story of our shared achievements just keeps on getting better."
Labatt is one of Canada's founding businesses and the country's leading brewer. It has over 3,000 employees in breweries, offices, warehouses and distribution centers from Newfoundland to British Columbia, and a portfolio that spans from global brands to iconic favorites that Canadians have been brewing and enjoying for generations.
The brewer was also named to 2015 lists of Canada's Greenest Employers and Canada's Top 100 Employers for Young People.
"It's the quality of the relationships and connections built by our employees that has made Labatt one of Canada's best employers," said Lindsay King, vice president, People. "Whether they're interacting with our communities, customers, suppliers or consumers, our employees are the face, voice, and spirit of Labatt."
Labatt's dream is to be The Best Beer Company Bringing People Together for a Better World by promoting responsible drinking, protecting the environment and supporting its communities. In 2015, employees have taken action on this dream by hosting public forums and cleaning public lands for World Environment Day, contributing hundreds of ideas for resource conservation, mobilizing Labatt's Disaster Relief program to get safe canned drinking water to those affected by forest fires in Western Canada, and volunteering for a host of other worthy causes.
Canada's Top 100 Employers project has annually recognized Canada's best places to work since 2001. Winners are selected by the editors of Mediacorp, the nation's largest publisher of employment-related periodicals and online directories. The competition aims to identify companies and organizations that lead their industries in attracting and retaining employees by evaluating entrants using eight criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
