Nearly $300,000 in financial assistance for the Municipality of Lac-Bouchette's project
LAC-BOUCHETTE, QC, Aug. 1, 2017 /CNW/ - [Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)] - Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects which, like the project of the Municipality of Lac-Bouchette, contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions in the country.
The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Municipality of Lac-Bouchette (website in French only) would receive $297,368 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to renovate the municipal arena.
Located in the Domaine-du-Roy regional county municipality, the arena has been under the ownership of the Municipality of Lac-Bouchette since 1985. Funding awarded under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will be used to replace the boards, glass and lighting, repair the foundation and stands, and replace the protective netting and scoreboard.
