Lakeside Steel Increases Production at End-Finishing Facility in Welland
WELLAND, ON, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - Lakeside Steel Inc. (TSX-V: LS) (the "Company" or "Lakeside Steel") announced that it has increased its tubing end finishing production to meet demand and improve customer service. End finishing includes the process of upsetting, threading and pressure testing tube products manufactured at the Welland facility. The Company will shift current employees and move from a single-shift to a three-shift operation at the end-finishing mill.
Lakeside Steel's President and COO, Ron Bedard said "end finishing is a constraining factor in the energy tubular business. Lakeside has made strategic capital investments in both end finishing and our onsite rail system that will allow us to get our product to market in a more timely and cost effective fashion.
