TORONTO, March 31, 2015 /CNW/ - As the holiday weekend approaches there's still time to take part in the Easter Seals Ontario Paper Egg Campaign in support of children with physical disabilities. While shopping simply purchase a Paper Egg for $2. Write your name or that of a loved one on the egg, and it will be displayed in-store for the remainder of the campaign. This year's Paper Egg Campaign ends on Sunday, April 5.
"This campaign not only raises important funds for programs but it also lets children with physical disabilities know that they're not alone. The displays of Easter Seals Paper Eggs in retail outlets show these kids that people in the community really care," said Susan Smith, Senior Manager, Development, Easter Seals Ontario. "We're heading into the last weekend of the campaign and we want people to know that every $2 Paper Egg purchased makes a big difference for children with physical disabilities in their community and across the province in a number of ways."
Funds raised help provide financial assistance for essential mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers, as well as opportunities for kids to attend Easter Seals' fully accessible summer camps. This year's participating retailers include Sobeys, Foodland, FreshCo, Price Chopper, Avondale, Highland Farms, Booster Juice, The Bargain! Shop and Red Apple.
For more than 90 years, Easter Seals Ontario has played an important role in providing support for children and youth with physical disabilities from all ethnic and religious backgrounds. Easter Seals relies on the generosity of donors and sponsors to be able to offer programs such as financial assistance for mobility equipment and communication devices, as well as fully accessible summer camp opportunities at its two properties, Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden.
