Launch of secure Drop-Off Depots for ERA across Canada:
CALGARY, June 6, 2012 /CNW/ - The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is launching secure drop-off depots across Canada. In partnership with professionally trained computer data handlers, ERA will enable companies and individuals to drop off their computers for donation and recycling. Donors can rest assured that their sensitive information will not fall into the wrong hands. ERA partners are trained and well educated in handling computers, and ensuring data safety and security. Depots will be added to our website over the next few months to ERA Depot Locations page.
ERA is also looking for more partners across Canada to be designated Drop-Off Depots where the public can bring their computers and other electronic equipment. Locations that are suitable drop off depots must be willing to staff and handle the donations of laptops and computers, with ERA training and support.
ERA is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing electronic waste through the reuse and recycling of unwanted computers, laptops and other related electronic equipment. Donated items are tested for quality and then it is determined whether they can be reused, donated or handled for environmentally responsible recycling. Once found suitable the equipment is then donated to other organizations, charities, schools and underprivileged individuals.
Equipment not suitable for donation is recycled with highest environmental and government standards, in Canada. Data is handled by professionals and erased with standards of the Department of Defense.
