OTTAWA, Sept. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Building on the success of the documentary series Identité 2.0 that was publicly broadcast on TFO last spring (http://identite2.tv/), the Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) launched today a set of teacher worksheets supporting the series.
"By supporting the production of this documentary series, we wanted episode themes to be discussed at home," says CTF President Dianne Woloschuk. "The worksheets will help teachers explore the themes with students, feeling they have the support they need to do so."
The worksheets, available both online and in paper format, are designed to provide teachers with steps to follow for the viewing of each episode of the series. Teachers are given the option of viewing the episodes in full or by section.
A Franco-Saskatchewanian herself, the new CTF President is familiar with the reality of the Francophone minority. She adds: "Teachers in French-language schools need resources that will provide them with practical support as part of the identity inquiry process."
The development of this new teacher resource was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Direction des ressources éducatives françaises of the Manitoba Department of Education, and the cooperation of Les Productions Rivard.
The Canadian Teachers' Federation is an alliance of nearly 200,000 elementary and secondary educators from 17 organizations (15 Members, one Affiliate Member and one Associate Member), across Canada. Follow the CTF on Twitter: @CanTeachersFed and @EnseigneCanada.
