The Learning Partnership's Take Our Kids to Work Day provides students with opportunities to experience career skills and competencies as they explore the world of work.
TORONTO, Oct. 30, 2018 /CNW/ - On November 14, 2018 Grade 9 students from across Canada will join a parent, family member or trusted friend at work as part of The Learning Partnership's Take Our Kids to Work Day. Since 1994, millions of students across Canada have spent the day in the life of a working professional, providing them an opportunity to explore the world of work and helping them make informed educational decisions. Take Our Kids to Work Day is occurring one week later than usual in accommodation of a significant faith day.
The Learning Partnership's Take Our Kids to Work Day supports career exploration and career readiness among Canadian students in Grade 9. On this day, an estimated 200,000 students will be hosted at local businesses in their communities, gaining exposure to workplace skills and competencies, including teamwork, problem solving and leadership. Take Our Kids to Work Day helps connect business and education, allowing employers to share knowledge, experience and advice around education, career choices and relevant skills required in today's workplace.
The Learning Partnership's Take Our Kids to Work Day is funded in part by the RBC Foundation, in support of the RBC Future Launch commitment to helping young Canadians prepare for the jobs of tomorrow.
