LAVALTRIE, QC, June 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Digital technologies are changing ways of doing things the world over and providing Canadian businesses with development opportunities. That is why the Government of Canada supports business innovation and the acquisition of digital skills.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Lavaltrie TechnoCentre has been granted $225,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to implement a digital technology business accelerator.
Founded in 2016 by the Regroupement des gens d'affaires de Lavaltrie, the Lavaltrie TechnoCentre, a non-profit organization, acts as a business growth accelerator for the digital technology sector. By providing work spaces and coaching and mentoring services tailored to business needs and stages of development, the TechnoCentre will promote growth in the digital sector in Lavaltrie.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will help the organization acquire hardware and make the leasehold improvements required to fit up collaborative work spaces for the incubated businesses.
CED is one of six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
