Government of Canada awards $375,000 in financial assistance to relocate this Témiscamingue business
LORRAINVILLE, QC, June 20, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
For Le Fromage au Village's tourist season launch, which was held today in its new premises, the Government of Canada confirmed that a financial contribution of $375,000 was granted to the SME, which has been proudly established for over 20 years in Lorrainville.
The funding helped the business relocate its plant, converting a former hardware store into a milk processing plant. The new facilities will support the company's growth and help increase its productivity.
Since the opening of the new plant, the business has doubled its cheese production, which includes a dozen products. The expansion was needed to meet growing demand and will certainly satisfy its growing gourmet clientele.
The funding was granted in the form of a repayable contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program and has helped create four jobs in the region. The business now has a team of 18 employees.
