SAINT-LAURENT, QC, Sept. 25, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Each year on October 1, Le Groupe Maurice pulls out all the stops to celebrate National Seniors' Day in an effort to recognize the valuable social contributions of seniors past and present, and to shine a spotlight on what it means to be a senior in Québec.
"This day is an opportunity for us to share our vision and our knowledge about seniors. What we want everyone to understand is that an elderly person is just that: a person. They have feelings, ambitions, a future, but also experience, wisdom and a treasure trove of stories to share. It's our responsibility, as a community, to take advantage of the tremendous wealth our seniors represent. The incredible knowledge they possess stands to benefit Québec in so many ways, both now and in the future. It's my hope that Le Groupe Maurice is able to do a little more each year to raise awareness of that fact," said Luc Maurice, President of Le Groupe Maurice.
Seniors in the spotlight on Le Missionnaire.TV
Le Groupe Maurice has teamed up with "missionnaire" Jean-Pier Gravel's 365 jours de bonheur initiative. From September 24 to 28, a variety of posts will appear on Le Missionnaire.TV social media pages to raise awareness about seniors and promote National Seniors' Day on October 1.
"Not enough people in Québec recognize the value of our seniors. But, if you ask me, there's nothing like the knowledge to be gained from talking to an elderly person. Their stories are overflowing with priceless wisdom and insights, and you come away from each conversation a little better for the experience. The goal of my partnership with Le Groupe Maurice is to shine a light on seniors and the amazing wealth they represent and, who knows, maybe even inspire a few people to visit their loved ones more often..." said Jean-Pier Gravel.
