LeapFrog and World, Olympic and Pan Am Games Champion Rosie MacLennan team up to make fitness fun at LeapBand™ events on August 27th
TORONTO, Aug. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - LeapFrog and World Championship, Olympic and Pan Am Games Gold Medalist Rosie MacLennan have teamed up to make fitness fun for kids across Canada.
LeapFrog, a leader in providing award-winning educational solutions for children, recently unveiled the first wearable activity tracker designed just for kids. LeapBand is loaded with kid challenges, fun games and even allows children to customize and play with their own pet. LeapBand promotes being active and reinforces healthy habits, two things that Olympic Gold Medalist Rosie MacLennan knows well.
"Fitness has been such an integral part of my life, and I hope through active play Canadian children will make it a part of theirs," says Rosie MacLennan.
"Keeping fit and active translates to all parts of everyone's lives and through this partnership with LeapFrog, my personal goal is to inspire kids to keep active, eat smart and reach their potential."
Rosie will bring the LeapBand to life first to media in the morning, then to consumers in the afternoon on August 27th where she will host interactive trampoline classes that incorporate fun, LeapBand-focused activities.
LeapFrog spokesperson, Tech Expert, and mom Amber MacArthur will join Rosie at the events to highlight the technical aspects of the LeapBand and participate in the trampoline classes led by Rosie.

LeapBand
The LeapBand activity tracker gets kids moving and having fun with 50 different activities and challenges, tracking a child's physical moves so the more active a child is, the more points they earn with their virtual pet. As the child earns points through active play, they can unlock additional games, challenges, levels of play and virtual rewards for their on-screen pet. LeapBand has an aspirational fit-band style designed with children in mind, and high-tech features including a built-in accelerometer, a high-resolution colour screen, a rechargeable battery, and water-resistant design, making it the ultimate activity wearable for kids.
