OTTAWA, April 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Some of Canada's leading investigative journalists will renew the fight for access to information at #CAJ2013.
The centrepiece of the conference's investigative track comprises Charles Davis, a renowned journalist and professor at the Missouri School of Journalism; and Robert Cribb, an award-winning investigative journalist with the Toronto Star. Davis and Cribb will talk about their fights for access to information. Postmedia's Stephen Maher, who co-broke the robocalls story, will join a panel about how tell stories when police and government won't cooperate.
#CAJ2013 runs May 3-5 at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa. We are proud to be partnered with Newspapers Canada's Ink&Beyond, which runs at the same venue from May 1-3. CAJ and Newspapers Canada delegates can access the same programming on Friday, May 3.
The conference offers three days of speakers, panels and workshops designed to appeal to journalists working in every medium. As part of the conference, the CAJ Awards will be announced May 4 at a gala and banquet hosted by CBC News Network and CBC Radio One host Evan Solomon. Tickets to the gala are included with most full-conference registration and standalone tickets can be purchased through the link above. We've also organized a pub night on Friday, May 3, for those not attending the National Newspaper Awards and for somewhere to head after the NNAs.
The full conference program is available at the CAJ's website.
The Canadian Association of Journalists is a professional organization with over 500 members across Canada. The CAJ's primary roles are public-interest advocacy work and professional development for its members.
