MONTREAL, Nov. 13, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - McGill University filed an action in Superior Court on Nov. 9, 2012, against Dr. Arthur Porter, former Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the McGill University Health Centre, demanding the reimbursement of $317,153.89.
This amount includes the balance of a loan granted to Dr. Porter in 2008. The University is also asking that Dr. Porter pay back $30,131.63 in salary, which was paid to him after his resignation and to which he was not entitled.
McGill has been in contact with Dr. Porter recently but despite the fact that he had promised to reimburse the University, the amount owing remains outstanding. The University has therefore decided to take action to ensure the prompt repayment of these sums.
As this case is before the courts, McGill University will make no further comment.
