CALGARY, July 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Genome Alberta, Canadian Science Publishing, and a group of science bloggers are developing a new Canadian science blogging network and are searching for a logo.
ScienceBorealis.ca will launch in the fall of 2013 and will aggregate Canada's science blogs (150 and counting) to provide a uniquely Canadian gateway for information, news, and opinion on science in Canada. In the meantime Science Borealis: Blogging from Canadian Perspectives is holding a contest to find a logo that will become an instantly recognizable symbol for the network in Canada and around the world.
There are prizes for the winners and runners up and full details on the contest can be found at http://ScienceBorealis.ca
The founders of Science Borealis felt there was a gap in telling the story of Canadian science and that it was time for a site where Canadians could learn about what was happening in their own backyard. The group has been working for several months to develop the network's goals and objectives, secure a developer, and start work on the site. Whether you want the latest in Canadian science, information to inform policy, to connect with researchers, write a term paper, or you just want to learn about neat stuff ScienceBorealis.ca will deliver Canadian science to Canadians.
Genome Alberta is a publicly funded organization that initiates, funds, and manages genomics research and partnerships.
