MONTREAL, June 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Just a few weeks after the bakery café Mamie Clafoutis was opened on the avenue Pointe-Nord, the Proment Corporation is delighted to announce the forthcoming opening of a second Les Enfants Terribles restaurant, just a few metres away. Located next to a large riverside park, Les Enfants Terribles will feature an expansive terrace offering clients views of both the Saint Lawrence river and downtown Montreal.
"We knew that there are very few places in Montreal where you can eat on the waterfront. So, when we drew up the plans for Pointe-Nord, we made sure to reserve a prime spot by the river for the neighbourhood restaurant, explained Ilan Gewurz, Executive Vice-President of the Proment Corporation, the promoter of the ecological neighbourhood located just a few minutes from downtown Montreal. With such a magnificent setting, we needed a top-class restaurant. Les Enfants Terribles has earned a reputation for a welcoming atmosphere in Outremont and original feel-good food,, and we are looking forward to offering this concept to Pointe-Nord."
"The Pointe-Nord neighbourhood is a remarkable place in Montreal, and we have been truly inspired by the possibilities it offers, added Francine Brûlé, restaurant manager and owner of the Brasserie Les Enfants Terribles, during a cocktail event that brought together around a hundred guests for the unveiling. We are happy to partner with Proment Corporation, because we share the same passion for neighbourhood life in all its forms. We want Les Enfants Terribles to become a popular destination for Montrealers and a second home for local residents."
During the event, Mr. Gewurz also unveiled Proment Corporation's vision for the commercial development of Pointe-Nord.
"We have been careful to choose stores and restaurants that help the neighbourhood develop a high quality offer that is both varied and exclusive, he explained. Mamie Clafoutis and les Enfants Terribles embody perfectly the spirit we want to nurture in this fledgling community."
Corporation Proment was also proud to remind guests that Mamie Clafoutis has just been designated a prime local destination by legendary publisher National Geographic in its new travel app A taste of Montreal.
Certified as a LEED ND Gold neighbourhood thanks to its compliance with numerous environmental standards, Pointe-Nord (www.pointenord.com) is already inhabited by residents of ZUNI, a building with 160 condos and 12 townhouses. Evolo 1, the neighbourhood's first 30-storey residential tower is now 95% sold and construction is well under way. It will welcome its first owners this fall (www.evolo.ca). More than 40% of the condos in Evolo 2, officially launched in November 2011, have already found owners, and 60% of units in the Evolo Pavilion, the neighbourhood's first medium-sized riverside building, have now been sold. Work has already started on the Gewurz-Remer commemorative park, and the Esplanade de la Pointe-Nord, the first of three community parks, is also currently under construction on the waterfront at the end of Pointe-Nord Avenue. It is expected to be ready later this year.
