Les Promenades Gatineau, home to a Québec first: Two Electric Circuit fast-charge stations on same site Français
GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 29, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The Electric Circuit and Les Promenades Gatineau have commissioned two fast-charge stations, along with two 240-V stations, to support electric vehicle (EV) car drivers. The two new plug-in stations in the Promenades Gatineau parking lot can be reached through the entrance on Rue Bellehumeur, between Boulevard Maloney Ouest and Chemin de la Savane.
The fast-charge stations can charge an all-electric vehicle's battery 80% in about 20 minutes, while 240-V stations extend the car's range by another 30 to 75 km while the driver spends an hour or two shopping.
"The addition of fast-charge stations in Gatineau marks another significant milestone in the rollout of the infrastructure needed to increase the number of electric cars in Québec," said Chapleau MNA Marc Carrière. "The installation of these stations is right in line with the energy transition espoused in our government's 2030 Energy Policy and Transportation Electrification Action Plan."
"The Oxford Properties Group and Les Promenades Gatineau are proud to count the fast-charge stations among our green initiatives and to serve electric car drivers in the region better," pointed out Francis Vermette, General Manager of the Promenades Gatineau.
"The Electric Circuit enables electric vehicle drivers to top up their batteries when they're away from home. We applaud the initiative of Les Promenades Gatineau, which has chosen to offer quick charging to customers, as well as any other EV drivers passing through the area," said France Lampron, Hydro-Québec's Manager – Transportation Electrification.
About the Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises over 735 public charging stations, including 57 fast-charge stations, operating across 16 Québec regions. Since its launch in March 2012, 160 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has over 10,000 members.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned. The Electric Circuit card also allows users to access the 150 Québec charging stations of the FLO network (formerly the VERnetwork).
