Let's "Tear It Up" with a Guinness World Record attempt at The Restaurants Canada Show
TORONTO, Feb. 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Saputo Foodservice will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for fresh mozzarella-ball tearing at The Restaurants Canada Show, March 1-3 at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto.
Organizers need 300 people to make the attempt, using Fiorella Fior di Latte. Show attendees are invited to "tear it up" on day two of the Restaurants Canada Show.
When? Monday, March 2, 2015; 2:00 pm – Pizza Pavilion area
Authentic Italian Margherita pizza originated in Naples and was made using fresh mozzarella. Pizzaiolos would tear balls of fresh Bufala Mozzarella or Fior di Latte to top their pizzas before baking them to perfection in a wood-fired oven.
"The Neapolitan pizza trend has finally reached the shores of North America and has taken it by storm, and it's no wonder," says Glenda Taylor, Director of Marketing for Saputo Foodservice. "To taste authentic Neapolitan pizza is to discover a little slice of pizza heaven."
Following the world record attempt, the mozzarella will be collected by Second Harvest for distribution to its network of social service agencies.
