LG Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival returns for 2010 - New sponsors and
star-studded bands will make this the best festival ever
MONTREAL, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The LG Crescent Grand Prix Festival, presented by Budweiser 4, is back bigger and better than ever for 2010. The festival will celebrate the automotive lifestyle, and is the unofficial kick off to the Montreal summer life. Between June 10 and 12, the Festival on Crescent Street will feature spectacular music on the Virgin Mobile Stage and a slew of other activities for the whole family. "Thanks to the support of our partners, the LG Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival will continue to offer the best race weekend experience in the city," said Steve Siozios, Co-President the Crescent Street Merchants' Association.
LG Electronics, the festival's title sponsor, is thrilled to make this event one to remember. LG is at the heart of the festival. BBF, in association with the Crescent Street Merchant's, have lined up some 20 all new exhibitors and a variety of interactive booths for people of all ages. LG hostesses will be on hand for photo opportunities in front of a life-size F1 replica race car and an LG podium which will make you feel like a champion-a true "Life's Good" moment.
Music will once again occupy center stage at the 2010 festival, thanks to new sponsor Virgin Mobile Canada, who will be bringing the music to the masses for the weekend. Every evening the Virgin Mobile Stage will feature performances from the best local and international acts. On Thursday, June 10, Montréal's own Karl Wolf, whose hits include "Africa" and "Carrera," will be taking the stage at 9:30pm. Day two on Friday, June 11 will feature Bedouin Soundclash at 9:30pm. The Canadian rockers are best known for their hit songs "When the Night Feels My Song" and "Walls Fall Down". On day three at 9:00pm on the Virgin Mobile Stage, some surprise special guests will make an appearance and will finish off by introducing the 9:30pm headliner, Faber Drive, who have taken the charts by storm with the hits "G-Get up and Dance!" and "Give him up."
The festival will kick-off with the opening ceremonies on Thursday, June 10 at 12:30pm with a special appearance by our proud Olympic athletes from this year's winter games. At 1 pm, make sure you don't miss our Olympians taking part in the Ford Celebrity Pit Stop Competition. The fun continues with the Ford Media Pit Stop Challenge at 5pm. Throughout the weekend the public will also be able to test their abilities to change tires on a race car. On display, Ford will be showcasing some exciting new vehicles including the next-generation 2012 Ford Focus, the ever so popular 2011 Ford Fiesta along with its legendary muscle cars such as the new 2011 Mustang, 2011 Ford Shelby and Ford Taurus SHO.
The UGG Australia bus will marvel the crowds with its luxurious size and stature, as well, promotional staff will be on hand to represent the brand. Don't forget to check out the Budweiser 4 simulators, to make you feel like you're part of the race.
This year's Pit Lane will be presented by Go Fast energy drink and will excite festival goers with a three day party on the Go Fast Boat. Throughout the Go Fast Pit Lane modified cars will line the street, a free airbrushing booth will be open to the public and will feature many more activities for the whole family.
Along with these numerous activities, drivers will be on hand for autographs and pictures thanks to TW Steel, the Official Timing Partner to the Renault F1 Team. Vitaly Petrov will be appearing on Thursday next to the TW Steel booth and James Hinchcliffe will be in attendance on Friday. Making his first appearance to the festival, Mario Andretti, one of the most successful pilots in the world and founder of Andretti Winery will be in attendance during the weekend. If you're lucky you might even be able to catch a glimpse of Sir Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Mobile near their Guitar Smash Hits booth!
