Lieutenant Governor offers condolences on the passing of Nik Zoricic

TORONTO, March 10, 2012 /CNW/ - I was saddened to learn today of the tragic death of Nik Zoricic during a World Cup ski cross race in Switzerland.

He was a young athlete at the height of his powers. Since making his ski cross debut at Lake Place in 2009, he had worked hard to hone his skills, capturing silver during his first World Cup competition in January 2011 and a bronze in January last.

As The Queen's representative in Ontario and on behalf of all Ontarians, I offer my sincere condolences to Nik Zoricic's family, and to members of Alpine Canada. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
