Lieutenant Governor welcomes the Grey Cup to celebrate the 2012 season
TORONTO, May 25, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, welcomes the Grey Cup to the Lieutenant Governor's Suite.
The visit of the Grey Cup marks the start of the 2012 Canadian Football League season, and coincides with the yearlong celebration of the 100th Grey Cup game, to be played this November in Toronto. The Grey Cup was donated by the Right Honourable Lord Earl Grey, when he was Governor General of Canada. Lieutenant Governor Onley is the Honorary Chair of the 100th Grey Cup Festival.
The Commissioner of the Canadian Football League, Mr. Mark Cohon, and the Chairman and CEO of the Grey Cup 100th Anniversary Festival, Mr. Chris Rudge, will join the Lieutenant Governor as they welcome people to be photographed with the historic trophy.
