Lighting up children's lives one note at a time
For one night only - A Special Santa Night!
DARTMOUTH, NS, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - For one night only see Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the elves dancing to the sights and the sounds of the holiday season! On Saturday December 18, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., a Nictaux couple will continue their efforts to raise money for The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada by offering a Special Santa Night, complete with a Santa Claus themed display of lights and sounds.
In addition to the unique display, the Nictaux Fire department will be present with a fire truck full of gifts for children and Tim Horton's of Middleton will be giving out TimBits and hot chocolate to everyone who makes a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation. The first 100 children will also receive a Christmas sock full of candies.
With 15,000 bouncing and blinking lights in tune to seasonal music, Mireille Jean and Mario La Rose are making a difference to children who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness.
The couple has set-up a wonderful display of lights in their front yard for two weeks now, complete with a donation box built and donated by Rona. In only 13 days they have collected over $2,600 for Children's Wish. Although the Santa Claus themed event is one night only, the lights and sounds are available to be viewed throughout the holiday season.
The unique display can be seen at 111 Balcom Crescent in Nictaux, Middleton. The crescent will be blocked off on Saturday, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to make it easier for families to view the show.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 16,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory.
