MONTREAL, June 29, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The 31st edition of L'International des Feux Loto-Québec kicks off this Wednesday. In keeping with the tradition, this year's edition is a succession of world-class displays. From July 1st to August 1st, on Saturday and Wednesday nights, Montreal's sky will light up with outstanding fireworks displays by some of the greatest pyrotechnic artists in the world.
The programme of this 31st edition is quite eclectic and truly outstanding. The season will open with a Salute to Our Troops featuring a very lively soundtrack performed by the musicians from the Royal 22nd Régiment Band. Other themes will include a Pyro-History of Rock 'n' Roll, an invitation to an amazing Road Trip, and a pyro musical journey through the Four Seasons of Vivaldi. This year's edition will conclude with a Tribute to Madonna, featuring mega hits such as Like a Prayer, Don't cry for me Argentina, and the singer's most recent success, Living for love.

The event, which was originally known as Concours international d'art pyrotechnique de Montréal (Montreal International Fireworks Competition) was launched in 1985. Today it is the most prestigious event of its kind in the world and it has been a member of the Major International Events Network (MIEN) since 2000.
