Once again, the skies over Montreal will serve as the backdrop to one of the most spectacular events in the world. The season will open with a celebration of the best of ABBA, followed by dazzling fireworks displays by some of the greatest pyrotechnic artists in the world over the eight-day competition. Six world-renowned firms representing Austria, China, Canada, the United States, Australia, and for the first time — the Philippines, will compete to win the hearts of spectators and the jury. The programme will take audiences on an odyssey through various themes from the world of dance, movies, video games, mythology and folklore to the greatest hits from legendary bands. This memorable season will conclude with a tribute to the iconic movie character, James Bond, featuring songs by Paul McCartney, Adele, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner and more.

The event, which was originally known as Concours international d'art pyrotechnique de Montréal (Montreal International Fireworks Competition), was launched in 1985.
