Litigation Against Acerus Pharmaceuticals Continues

Defendants include Chairman Ian Ihnatowycz and President Tom Rossi

TORONTO, April 5, 2016 /CNW/ - Eugene Melnyk, a significant shareholder in Acerus Pharmaceuticals Corporation (TSX:ASP), today announced the filing of a Statement of Claim in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice with respect to his litigation against Acerus Pharmaceuticals Corporation, company Chairman Ihor (aka Ian) Ihnatowycz and President Tom Rossi are named defendants and six other current or former directors and officers of the company are also referenced in the legal proceeding.  The claim is seeking, amongst other relief, the removal from the Board of Directors Ihor (aka Ian) Ihnatowycz and Tom Rossi, and the removal of Tom Rossi as CEO in addition to $145 million in damages, punitive and exemplary damages.

This filing is subsequent to the Notice of Action filed on March 4, 2016, which was also filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
