LiUNA Welcomes Phil Fontaine to Co-Chair Aboriginal Affairs Committee
OAKVILLE, ON, Sept. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Today LiUNA (Labourers' International Union of North America) officially announced the appointment of Mr. Phil Fontaine, former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, as co-chair of LiUNA's Aboriginal Affairs Committee. This committee will seek to coordinate its efforts of outreach with Aboriginal leaders across Canada to train and employ First Nation, Métis and Inuit people. Joseph Mancinelli, LiUNA International Vice President and Regional Manager of Central and Eastern Canada remarked, "For over one hundred years, LiUNA has created an environment where our members and future members have access to quality jobs and benefits. Phil Fontaine's impeccable integrity will help bridge the gap between LiUNA and Aboriginal peoples across Canada."
