TORONTO, Sept. 14 /CNW/ - Starting this fall, Canyon Creek restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area will feature a special Local Harvest Menu, bringing the best seasonal, local ingredients to guests for the second consecutive harvest season. From September 14 to October 31, Canyon Creek guests will have an opportunity to taste the locally-driven menu at all eight locations across Southern Ontario including Vaughan, Burlington, Niagara Falls, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Toronto (Front Street) and Toronto Airport.
"In 2009, Canyon Creek introduced the Local Harvest Menu for the first time and showcased fresh foods from Ontario, helping to raise awareness about the many wonderful resources available in our backyard," said Corey Dalton, President, SIR Corp. "Our guests responded with such enthusiasm and support, that we re-affirmed our commitment to supporting the local food movement by expanding the locally-inspired menu at our Canyon Creek restaurants this fall."

Executive Chef Mark Jachecki looks forward to re-introducing the Local Harvest menu to diners and in preparation, spent time with local farmers at Carron Farms in Bradford, Ontario discussing this year's food harvest before selecting ingredients to be added to the limited-time menu.
"I'm excited and honoured to be partnering with the local farmers who have helped Canyon Creek bring this innovative vision for the Local Harvest Menu to life," said Jachecki. "This menu means more than just adding local ingredients to our menu for harvest season. It's an ongoing commitment to helping our guests understand the origins of the ingredients we use and a commitment to the local farmers that grow them."
As part of this year's promotion, guests who make a reservation online at www.canyoncreekchophouse.com and submit the code HENRY of PELHAM have an opportunity to win a VIP tour of the winery, including tasting and lunch. From September 12 to October 9, Canyon Creek Local Harvest Menu is operating in conjunction with the LCBO's goLOCAL promotion of Ontario-produced wines.
