Local hockey teams breakaway to the MTS Iceplex

MTS celebrates grand opening of the new multi-plex facility

WINNIPEG, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - Today, MTS is pleased to announce the grand opening of the MTS Iceplex, the 172,000 square foot multi-plex facility located just west of the city.

"We are very excited that the MTS Iceplex is now officially open," said Kelvin Shepherd, President, MTS. "Visitors to the MTS Iceplex can experience many of MTS's most advanced services, while enjoying the other amenities this outstanding new facility has to offer."

In April, True North Sports & Entertainment Limited announced the new sporting facility would be named the MTS Iceplex as part of a naming rights partnership agreement for the entire complex. 

Through its partnership with True North, MTS has supplied the new facility with a full suite of advanced communications services, including improved wireless coverage for inside the facility, Wi-Fi connectivity for Internet access, and MTS Ultimate TV service.

The MTS Iceplex will not only serve as the primary practice facility for the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose, but will also be home to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Winnipeg Blues.
