Local railway employees and the talented Brothers Dube descend on supermarket
to shop for Moisson Montréal as CP Holiday Train magic builds

MONTREAL, Nov. 24 /CNW/ - Canadian Pacific Montreal employees are again rallying together for Moisson Montréal as the 2010 CP Holiday Train prepares to begin its cross-country trek for North American food banks this weekend.

Each year, local operations workers collect thousands of dollars for Moisson Montréal. On Friday, November 26th, they will be presenting the local food bank program a cheque for more than $5000 for this year's drive. On the way to the food bank, a group of CP railroaders will be stopping at a nearby grocery store for a major shopping trip as they pick-up items Moisson Montréal has identified as being most needed.

Editor's Note 1:  As the railroaders go up and down the aisles, Ottawa singing sensations Brothers Dube, quite possibly the youngest sibling rock band in the world, will be entertaining customers also doing their shopping.

Editor's Note 2: Following the completion of their grocery shopping, the employees will then be driving the truck load over to Moisson Montréal (6880,ch. Côte-de-Liesse) for formal delivery along with the monetary donation.

This is the 12th year of the CP Holiday Train, which rolls across Canada and the United States raising money, food and awareness for local food shelves.  In addition to  stops in Kahnawake and Lacolle on Friday night the Holiday Train will be in Beaconsfield and St-Clet on Saturday afternoon. In all, about 140 communities will experience the magic of two brightly decorated trains travelling across six Canadian provinces and eight states in the U.S. Midwest and Northeast.

Since 1999, the CP Holiday Train program has raised $4.8 million and generated almost 2.3 million pounds of food donations for local food shelves. All food and cash donations raised at each event stays in that community for distribution.
