Local resident celebrates 16 years of volunteer service with The Children's
Wish Foundation of Canada
AJAX, ON, April 19 /CNW/ - The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada celebrates the 16-year service of a local volunteer and Cobourg resident, Vicky Davis, during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2010.
Sandra Hancox, Ontario Chapter Director of Children's Wish, said, "Vicky is chair of the chapter's volunteer team in the region and has been a tremendous support in helping grow our donor and volunteer base. She is one of our longest standing volunteers in Northumberland Region and we are lucky to have her."
"Children's Wish relies on the generosity of our donors and volunteers to grant children diagnosed with a life-threatening illness their most heartfelt wish. Vicky's dedication and commitment to children who struggle with life-threatening illness is unsurpassed," she added.
Vicky is not alone in her commitment. Volunteering for the Davis family is a family affair. At Children's Wish fundraising events, Vicky is supported by her husband Marshal, daughter Hailey and mother Barbara Campbell. "Children's Wish is my life," said the Cobourg resident.
These days, Vicky and her volunteer team are busy preparing for the Dining for Dreams Auction at East Side Mario's, on April 24 in Cobourg. All proceeds will benefit Children's Wish.
The sub-chapter supports fundraising activity in the Northumberland Region, including Belleville, Trenton, Port Hope, Peterborough, Newcastle, Bowmanville as well as the Kawartha Lakes area. To join Children's Wish's volunteer team in Northumberland, contact Vicky at 905-372-6952.
