WHAT: An award-winning, high-energy event that educates local youth about pressing global issues through interactive workshops, discussions and creative activities such as dance, art and more. WHEN: Thursday Feb. 11th, 2010 Conference registration: 8:30 a.m. Workshop sessions: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Youth ambassadors from Tanzania and Rwanda speak 10:55 - 11:35 a.m.) WHERE: Best Western Westwood Inn 18035 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, AB WHO: Students from schools in the Edmonton Area Special guest speakers Didan Rwabika and Rachel Makenge student leaders from Rwanda and Tanzania Sarah Jenson, World Vision Youth Ambassador from Grande Prairie, AB, and Jeff Torres, World Vision Youth Ambassador from North Vancouver, BC WHY: World Vision will be engaging youth on global issues and encouraging them to take action against hunger, poverty and obstacles to child health by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to strengthen their leadership skills and make a difference in the world.
