Chateau Viger reaches full occupancy; Phase 2 redevelopment work to begin soon
MONTREAL, Oct. 21, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jesta Group is delighted to welcome the latest member of the Gare Viger community, Coalision Inc., to its new 30,000 square foot headquarters in the iconic Chateau Viger in Old Montreal.
The arrival earlier this month of the internationally-renowned manufacturer and distributor of active and athleisure wear under the Lolë and Paradox brands brings the Chateau to full occupancy. This architectural landmark of significant historical importance has been fully transformed into modern, multifunctional office and commercial space. This lends further momentum to the repurposing of the Gare Viger complex as a whole for the use and enjoyment of future generations of Montrealers for years to come.
"Coalision's eagerly anticipated arrival at its new global headquarters at the Gare Viger is warmly welcomed. The Jesta Group is pleased to offer this unique work and living environment to yet another dynamic Montreal-based company," said Anthony O'Brien, spokesperson for the Jesta Group. "Innovative firms like Coalision that are active on the world stage help to drive growth in the Quebec economy, and jobs in our city. It is a pleasure for our Group to facilitate their work by offering world-class facilities that meet their business needs."
Founded in 1989, Coalision is a leading provider of wellbeing-inspired activewear. Its flagship brands are distributed and sold across North America, Europe and Asia. Residents and visitors to Montreal could not have missed the 2015 edition of Lolë's international White Tour which brought together close to 7,000 people for a giant outdoor yoga event in the Old Port in August. In addition, Lolë's new Montreal flagship store recently opened to shoppers on the city's iconic St. Catherine Street to rave reviews.
Site redevelopment going from strength to strength
Since its acquisition of Gare Viger in 2012, the Jesta Group has substantially redeveloped and invested in this commercial real estate hub in a rapidly growing area of the city. The complex includes the Chateau Viger and Gare Berri buildings. In total, more than 130,000 square feet of retail and office space were redeveloped as part of renovation work under Phase 1 of the project.
Coalision joins current Gare Viger occupants Lightspeed, a leading point-of-sale software provider to over 22,000 businesses in 100 countries worldwide, and Brasseur de Montréal, which opened a stunning 5,000 square foot resto-bar in the Gare Berri building in May 2015. The Jesta Group and Jesta I.S. also have offices in Gare Berri, bringing the total current workforce at the site to more than 500 people.
"The area around Gare Viger is changing at a rapid pace. It's an exciting time to be involved in the development of this neighbourhood," said Anthony O'Brien. "Full occupancy of the Chateau is yet another step in the right direction in our plans for the site. We will continue to work closely with our partners to ensure that the Gare's renovation remains an example of how best to repurpose heritage buildings. We would like to thank all stakeholders for their cooperation towards this goal, and we look forward to launching the next exciting phase of work soon."
