members of the
London
RCMP Detachment attended Masonville Place Mall in
London
and seized counterfeit merchandise being sold contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada.Items seized include sunglasses, jewelry, shawls, wallets and purses bearing various unlicensed commercial logos. Items involved in the seizure are alleged to be imitations of known brands such as Chanel, Coach, Dior and various other name brands.
A 36 year old resident of Pickering, Ontario faces charges for his alleged role in the sale and distribution of these counterfeit goods.
It is an offence in
Canada
to sell and distribute merchandise bearing unlicensed or unregistered trademarks without the permission of the trademark owner. Police will continue to be vigilant during the holiday season.
