Longtime Member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Honoured for Service
HALIFAX, June 5, 2012 /CNW/ - Halifax - Members of the Canadian Public Relations Society - Nova Scotia Chapter took a few moments from their Annual General Meeting to honour one of their own for his longtime service on the international, national and local fronts.
Ed Murray was presented with a certificate of recognition for 50 years of membership.
Ed is just the third member to be honoured for this remarkable commitment to the public relations profession.
He joined CPRS in 1962, achieved his accreditation in 1971. He was the first from Nova Scotia and the first from the Public Service to hold the position of CPRS National President when he was elected in 1978.
Ed was a founding member of the Atlantic PR Society, predecessor to CPRS NS late 50s and early 60s.
In 1986 he was presented with CPRS Lamp of Service Award and was named an Honorary Fellow in 2003. Ed is also a Life Member of the Society.
