Look On The Plus Side: Estimated $50 Million Jackpot Plus An Estimated 14 MAXMILLIONS Up For Grabs Français
TORONTO, March 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Lottery players in Ontario can look on the plus side of LOTTO MAX. As there was no winning ticket for the $50 million LOTTO MAX jackpot last night, the upcoming LOTTO MAX draw for Friday, March 23, 2012 is once again an estimated $50 million. Additionally, there are an estimated 14 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes up for grabs, on top of the jackpot, bringing the total prize amount to $64 million.
While there were also no winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from last night's draw, a ticket sold in the Toronto-area is sharing part of the second prize pool with a ticket sold in Western Canada. These tickets are each worth $299,884.
When the LOTTO MAX jackpot hits $50 million, players can look for the 'plus' sign where lottery tickets are sold to determine how many extra, separate $1 million prizes are available. These "MAXMILLIONS" prizes are drawn independently from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw.
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $1.1 billion in prizes, including 20 jackpot wins and 117 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.
Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 for the draw that evening.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
