L'Oréal Paris' signature philanthropic program to honour ten inspiring Women of Worth
with total of $110,000 in charitable grants
Call for nominations now open at womenofworth.ca
MONTREAL, Aug. 28, 2017 /CNW/ - L'Oréal Paris opened nominations today for its 2018 Women of Worth Awards honouring inspiring women who ignite change in their communities through exceptional volunteer work. The signature philanthropic program embodies the L'Oréal Paris belief that 'Every Woman is Worth It' by elevating and celebrating altruistic women who find beauty in giving back. The public is invited to nominate extraordinary Canadian women until October 15th at womenofworth.ca.
"It was an absolute honour to be awarded as one of Canada's first L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth Honourees and the National Honouree for 2017," said Eva von Jagow, founder of DueNORTH, a foundation to promote access to nutritional and affordable food to all children and youth in Canada's North. "Women of Worth brought together such an inspiring group of Canadian women who are each making extraordinary, positive changes in their communities that I was truly humbled to be in their company. The opportunity to meet these women and hear their stories was as valuable as the infusion of the financial grant to my charity and the increased media awareness. Women of Worth was a life changing experience."
The ten selected 2018 Honourees, will become part of the Canadian Women of Worth community joining the ten inspiring women volunteers who were recognized as Canada's inaugural 2017 Women of Worth Honourees earlier this year. Honourees are selected from hundreds of nominations and recognized for the significant impact on their community. Women of Worth Honourees receive a total of $110,000 in financial grants from L'Oréal Paris for their non-profit organizations.
"Our inaugural Canadian Women of Worth are incredible women championing a range of important causes from helping homeless women build sustainable careers, to providing free childcare to mothers with cancer, to helping refugees build their new lives in Canada to fighting against child exploitation," said Milan Mladjenovic, General Manager, L'Oréal Paris in Canada. "It's an honour to be able to publicly celebrate these awe-inspiring women by shining a spotlight on their causes and providing financial support to help them reach and benefit even more Canadians."
